Meet the Founders

Passion and Expertise Combined

Katie and Dalyce met while obtaining their Master’s degree’s in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto.  Both of them worked in outpatient care and have taken multiple acupuncture courses, spent five years taking an intensive program focusing on joints, muscles, and nerves, as well as several soft tissue and strength training/exercise courses.

At 34, Dalyce became pregnant with her first child and went on to have two more children. Over the next five years, she was either pregnant or nursing. During this period, she sparked her interest in skin and facial treatments to help with rejuvenation.

Since conventional options like injectables and retinol were not recommended during pregnancy or nursing, Dalyce sought alternative treatments for the face and surrounding areas, which led her to discover the many benefits of facial massage and acupuncture.

During the final weeks of her pregnancy with her first child, Katie developed Bell's Palsy, a neurological condition that caused paralysis on one side of her face. This left her unable to fully close her right eye and smile with the right side of her mouth.

Unfortunately, Katie was among the 15% of individuals who do not spontaneously recover full facial muscle function after Bell's Palsy, resulting in significant tension and reduced muscle function on the right side of her face.

As the onset of her condition coincided with the beginning of the pandemic, Katie's rehabilitation sessions with a specialist were conducted virtually. She had to perform all the massage techniques herself to help her facial muscles relax and recover.
